Jamison Crowder will miss his fifth straight game with an ankle injury. The Washington Redskins wide receiver was downgraded from questionable to out after he did not travel to the team Saturday morning to Tampa, Florida for their Week 10 matchup with the Buccaneers.

Crowder, who had missed just one game through the first three seasons of his NFL career, has been hampered with the ankle injury for now over a month, last playing in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints. He returned to limited practice this week for the first time in four weeks, but he was a long shot to being active for Sunday’s game against Tampa.
Crowder averaged 64 receptions and 747 through the first three seasons, however, he has been limited to 13 receptions for 134 yards in large to injury. The Redskins passing game has suffered a great deal with first-year quarterback Alex Smith. Not having Crowder’s route running and versatility has played a factor in the passing game’s struggles.
The Redskins placed wide receiver Paul Richardson on injured reserve following a season-ending shoulder injury. Maurice Harris and Josh Doctson will start with Michael Floyd, Brian Quick, and Jehu Chesson as the available wide receivers against Tampa.
Trey Quinn returned to practice this week and he was designated to return from injured reserve following an ankle injury suffered in Week 1. However, he is not eligible to be activated until Monday.
Wide receiver is not the only injury woes for the Redskins. They will be without three starters on their offensive line, left tackle Trent Williams, right guard Brandon Scherff, and left guard Shawn Lauvao. Williams is still recovering from thumb surgery from two weeks ago, while both Scherff and Lauvao were placed on injured reserve after suffering season-ending injuries last week against Atlanta.
The Redskins will also be without running back Chris Thompson for the fourth time in their last five games with a rib injury.
