In an interview with 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier, Wizards center Marcin Gortat said that Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins is on his list of people he “doesn’t like”.
When asked about his small confrontation with Cousins towards the end of the Wizards-King game a month ago, Gortat responded:
“Well, let’s put it this way. I have two guys on my list, definitely, and he will be high on my list. Definitely… That’s the list of people I don’t like. Let’s put it this way.”
He added that his dislike for Cousins goes beyond just that one game.
Gortat is on record for telling Truth About It Kyle Weidie that he was in favor of fighting in the NBA just like the NHL.
It’s ironic that Gortat has no love for Cousins, considering that Gortat’s teammate John Wall is pretty close with Cousins, as they played together for one year at the University of Kentucky. Given the multiple cross ups Cousins has had throughout the league in his short four-year career, it’s safe to say Gortat isn’t the only Wizard or NBA player that does not like Cousins.
Gortat is averaging 13.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks on the season for the playoff bound Wizards. He will be a free agent at the end of the season.
