How can you not love Max Scherzer? Doesn't take a top lip reader to figure this one out pic.twitter.com/sChcxhamQb

Next time Nationals’ skipper Dusty Baker wants to take out ace Max Scherzer, he may have some hesitation in his steps. In Tuesday’s showdown in the Beltway Series between the Nationals and their hated northern neighbors Baltimore Orioles, Baker walked out to the mound to check on his starting pitcher. The response he got was epic, to say the least.
Scherzer had just yielded a solo blast to Adam Jones to cut the Nationals’ lead to 4-2. At the point, Scherzer had gone 7 2/3 innings and thrown 109 pitches with Manny Machado set to go to the batter box. Surely that was enough grounds for Baker to make a visit. However, Scherzer was not having any of it.
“I got him,” Scherzer says at first glance.
Apparently the first “I got him” wasn’t too convincing for Dusty. Therefore, Scherzer emphatically yelled at the skipper “I f—-g got him!”
Welp, Baker was convinced that time if he wasn’t before. He left Scherzer in, who got Machado to foul out to left as Chris Heisey made an outstanding running catch, reaching into the stands along the left field line to make the snag to end the inning.
Scherzer lived most working citizens dream scenario — telling your boss, you (freaking) got it and then delivering.
