Georgetown’s Rodney Pryor brought down the house with a thunderous one-handed slam off an alley-hoop. Jagan Mosely started the fastbreak off a steal then he found Pryor behind the defense with the alley-hoop.
Pryor displayed his amazing hops and concentration to reach back and grab the basketball before throwing it down. The dunk ignited the Verizon Center crowd and sparked a 16-2 run that dug Georgetown from a 14-point second half deficit against former Big East rival Connecticut.
Pryor’s dunk proved to be the turning point of the game, as the Hoyas rallied to beat Connecticut 72-69. The win was Georgetown’s second straight, improving them to 10-8 on the season. Hopefully for John Thompson III and his team Pryor’s dunk will be the turning point to their season as they try to dig themselves out of a last place-hole in the Big East Conference.
