Arkansas WR Drew Morgan ejected for spitting in Hokies player face

Arkansas receiver Drew Morgan was ejected for spitting in the face of Virginia Tech player.

Arkansas leading receiver Drew Morgan’s college career ended prematurely on Thursday, as he was ejected from the Belk Bowl with 5:44 remaining in the game. Initially it was unclear to why he was being ejected. But Razorbacks head coach Brett Bielema told reporters following Virginia Tech’s 35-24 win, Morgan was ejected for spitting in one of the Hokies’ players face.

Bielema called Morgan’s actions “very embarrassing” for the Razorbacks’ program, according to Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The Razorbacks were assessed a 15-yard penalty for “flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct.”

Arkansas led 24-0 at halftime, but the Hokies rallied scoring 35 unanswered points to win. The Razorbacks offense sputtered in the second half with four turnovers and four punts in eight possessions in the final two quarters.
