Ford was working one-on-one on the outside against freshman Pittsburgh cornerback Dane Jackson. Ford was able to snag a back-shoulder throw from quarterback Jerod Evans while sliding in the end zone near the pylon. The grab was his 23rd career touchdown reception, breaking the school record previously held by Antonio Freeman.

The catch capped an incredible night for Ford. He had 10 catches for 143 yards in addition to his touchdown, as the Hokies topped the Panthers 39-36 to improve to 3-0 within the ACC Coastal division and 4-1 in ACC play.
Ford now sets his sights on two other receiving school records. He is eight receptions and 363 yards shy of surpassing Jarrett Boykin to become the school’s all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards.
