Virginia has jumped out to a 35-21 halftime lead over Syracuse in Sunday’s Midwest Regional Final thanks in part to five-three pointers by junior guard London Perrantes.
The Los Angeles native has been cataylst to Virginia breaking down Syracuse’s patented 2-3 zone. Perrantes was on fire going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, propelling him to give arguably one of the best three-point celebrations in the history of the NCAA tournament.
Perrantes wasn’t the only person inside Chicago’s United Center that could smell the smoke off his fingers. You can say he was barbecuing. Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim has to figure out a way to cool off Virginia’s hottest shooter in the second half if they want to change the complexion of the game.
