Okay, Jeshaun Jones has stolen the show in the first half of the Maryland Terrapins’ season opener versus No. 23 Texas. The Florida freshman has scored on a 28-yard touchdown run. Then on a 65-yard touchdown reception. Now, the wideout is throwing touchdown passes.
That’s right Jones took an option and then hurled a 20-yard pass to Taivon Jacobs for Maryland’s third touchdown of the game.
Jones has not accounted for all three of those touchdown — one run, one catch, and one pass.
It’s just one game, but Maryland has their hands on a freshman sensation in Jones. The Terrapins are looking to stun the Longhorns for the second straight season, and Jones is doing everything in his power to ensure that outcome. The score put Maryland ahead 24-7 with just over eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.
